Honda Cars India might have had a slump in the past few years due to a lack of lucrative products. The only cars which were carrying the chariot forward were the Amaze and the City. Recently, the brand has updated the City with enhanced safety functions and new variants to improve its weight over its rivals. With that being one, Honda also has plans to bring another exciting update with a slew of new cars. Which are these upcoming Honda cars? Read below.
Upcoming Honda cars – Honda Creta rival
The testing of the C-SUV has already begun on the Indian roads of which we are covering the exclusive details for you. Recently, we have spotted the floating design of Honda’s new infotainment system which is likely to measure around 10 inches. Other details of this SUV report that it will range somewhere between 4,200mm to 4,300mm. Powering this car, it is likely to be the 1.5-litre petrol and also 1.5-litre strong hybrid being the other option. Transmission options are likely to be the 6-speed manual and CVT gearbox.
Upcoming Honda cars – New Amaze
The compact sedan from the Japanese automaker is set to receive a generation update in the following year. The new car which would be based on the updated version of the PF2 platform is likely to be a petrol-only sedan. The engine offered on this one is the 1.2-litre petrol making 89bhp and 110Nm of torque Design-wise, it is expected to take design adoptions from the Accord and updated City. Other than this, a new interior layout with a floating screen design is likely to be seen. The new generation Amaze is expected to launch in mid-2024. It would rival cars like the Maruti Dzire, Tata Tigor and Hyundai Aura.
Upcoming Honda cars – Honda WRV
The Japanese auto giant unveiled this compact SUV in the South Asian markets last year. If launched in India, it could go against Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue and others. Talking about the car, is primarily based on the Honda RS Concept SUV. It is based on the PF2 platform which is also shared by cars like the Amaze. In international markets, it gets Honda Safety Sense (ADAS) and other safety features like Auto High Beam, Lead car departure and more. Powering this engine, it’s a 1.5-litre petrol engine that makes 119bhp and 145Nm of torque. A 6-speed MT and CVT gearbox carry out transmission duties.
Honda 7-seater SUV
Once the actual Creta rival from the brand is launched, it could look way ahead to take on the Alcazar. The Japanese automaker could do something like the Alcazar. This could mean that Honda might spawn a longer-wheelbase version of this new SUV. It could mean more premium features in the interiors, hopefully, a more powerful petrol engine and the obvious 7-seater configuration. If launched, it could be a fierce rival to the Hyundai Alcazar and the upcoming Grand Vitara’s 7-seater version ‘Y17’.
Honda affordable EV
The brand has officially said about its EV plan for the upcoming years. We are talking about a new affordable EV apt for the Indian market. Looking at the global portfolio, there are chances it might be the Honda One but being affordability at its core, Honda might develop an India-specific model. This car is not yet to reveal anytime soon but until then we could see the strong hybrid soaring in full action from the brand. What about pricing? If it has to be in the affordable margin, then somewhere between Rs 10 to 15lakh could be a good range (depending on the segment and features it packs in).
