The Indian car segment is crowded in the affordable category with a lot of options available for buyers. But as we climb up the ladder options start to dwindle at a rapid pace. So what if your budget is around the Rs 50 lakh price range? Which car should you consider? The IONIQ 5 is one option that you could consider under Rs 50 lakhs. In today’s article, let’s talk about the perfect Rs 50 lakh car.
The IONIQ 5 has a design completely different to any Hyundai car on the road. Hyundai has tried to give the IONIQ 5 a retro-futuristic design. At the front, we have a flat bonnet with pixel-shaped LED headlamps. As we move to the side profile, we can see Tucson-like curvy bits on the IONIQ 5. At the rear, we again have the pixelated tail lamp design like the front.
Perfect Rs 50 lakh car – Specifications
The IONIQ-5 comes with only a single motor, and rear-wheel-drive setup and missing out on the all-wheel drive option that is offered globally. It comes with an electric motor capable of producing 214bhp and 350Nm of torque. What about the battery pack? The IONIQ 5 comes with a 72.6kWh battery pack with an ARAI-claimed range of 631km, which is quite impressive. Also, the IONIQ 5 is capable of supporting superfast charging up to 800V, which can charge the car from 0% to 80% in 18 mins. Another trick up the sleeve of IONIQ 5 is the VTL technology that can help power other electrical appliances.
The IONIQ 5 is Hyundai’s flagship product in India and comes loaded with features. In terms of equipment, the IONIQ 5 comes with two 12.3-inch displays for the instrument cluster and infotainment system, an augmented heads-up display, Bose sound system, and all-electric powered seats. Rs 50 lakh car – Why is it perfect?
As stated above, you don’t have many options in the around Rs 50 lakhs range. In ICE, you still can select entry-level models of BMW or Mercedes, but there is no EV in this price range. You will have to directly jump to the Kia EV 6 or BMW i4, which are a bit more expensive than the IONIQ 5. Also, the IONIQ offers almost everything expected of a car at this price. It has features, well-laid-out interiors and electrifying performance. This makes the IONIQ 5 a near-perfect product under Rs 50 lakhs.
