The hatchback segment is facing tough competition from the SUV segment. However, it continues to be the preferred choice for city buyers. With the advent of premium hatchbacks, buyers have a premium option in this segment. Cars like the Baleno, i20 & Altroz are doing good. Now Altroz seems to be getting a premium feature in the next update. In today’s article, let’s talk about the Tata Altroz sunroof.
Currently, only the Hyundai i20 comes with a sunroof in this segment. Now Tata seems to be bringing the sunroof to Altroz. How are we so sure? Tata is preparing to launch the Altroz i-CNG. Recently the brand released a trailer of the i-CNG model and this trailer showcased a sunroof in the Altroz. So it seems very likely that the Altroz is getting a sunroof. Will it be restricted only to the CNG variant? We don’t think so, Tata would want to give the petrol version a sunroof to take on the Hyundai i20.
What else to expect?
The Altroz is also expected to come with a new digital instrument cluster and 6-airbags. This could also be added to the ICE-variant. Specs-wise, we don’t expect any changes. The CNG could be paired with the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine capable of producing 85bhp and 113Nm of torque. In CNG mode, it produces 76bhp and 97Nm of torque. Unlike its rivals, the Altroz CNG can start directly in the CNG mode.
Tata Altroz sunroof – Launch and pricing
Tata has already opened the bookings of the Altroz i-CNG. With prices to be announced in May with deliveries happening soon after. In the ICE variants, the sunroof could be added in the upcoming weeks. What about the pricing? The sunroof variants could get a price hike of Rs 50k to 60k.
