Rs 16 lakh SUV to take on the XUV700!
Mahindra’s strenuous effort for the XUV700 has been happily received by its customers. The car has received a great response due to its commendable list of equipment. Its major USP has become its extensively laid out variants with features and powerful engine options. This car is doing great and well but the launches of cars like the Innova HyCross, and Safari facelift could act as spoilsport for the XUV700. Moreover, there’s one more 16 lakh SUV which could rival the XUV700. Which is it lets know more.
XUV700 rival – MG Hector 2023
The Hector kickstarted MG’s India journey which laid a good concrete base for the brand. This nameplate is quite a salient one for this British Chinese automaker thus it is planning to bring a new updated version of the same. This upcoming Hector 2023 is likely to be more loaded with plenty of premium features and it is also touted that MG could sell the existing Hector alongside this new car.
Design
The updated car is spotted in foreign countries without any camouflage which has revealed its design elements. The new car has got the diamond mesh grille in the front and an updated rear look to the car. The side profile looks more or less the same with a similar alloy wheel design. However, this model is from a South Asian country, so we cannot say that the Indian spec would look the same as this. To spruce it up a bit, the Indian model can receive certain changes.
XUV700 rival – Features
The new Hector is set to get completely new interiors with premium features. We could see an increment in soft-touch materials, a reworked dashboard layout, an all-new digital instrument cluster, and the main highlight being the infotainment system. MG has teased the 14-inch infotainment system (portrait layout) which is likely to be the talking point of this car. Other features might include the availability of ADAS.
Specifications
The new MG Hector will retain the same engine options. So, it is likely to continue the 1.5-litre turbo petrol making 139bhp and 250Nm of torque. The 48V mild hybrid technology would be kept to mount the fuel economy. Moreover, the availability of the 2.0-litre diesel making 165bhp and 350Nm of torque could also remain the same. Furthermore, we could see an addition of an automatic gearbox in the diesel variant which is missing in the current car.
XUV700 rival – Launch and Pricing
MG plans to unveil the 2023 Hector on the 20th of December. The brand is planning to unwrap this car which is likely to be Rs 2 to 3 lakh more expensive than the current car. This premium could be demanded due to its more premium features and equipment. After the car is unveiled, only then we can expect a proper launch in the upcoming year.
