Hyundai's Punch rival design revealed!
The SUV segment continues to be a gold mine for manufacturers in India. Even small SUVs are bringing the numbers. The perfect example is the Punch which has done exceptionally well for Tata. Now Hyundai is also looking to enter this segment with the Exter. It has been teasing the car and now it has released sketch images of the car. In today’s article, let’s talk about the Hyundai Exter design.
Design details
Hyundai has dropped the first design sketches of the new Exter. Talking straight about the design, the front of the car gets an upright grille with projector headlamps placed in them. As we move up, we can see an H-shaped DRL design and a sculpted bonnet design. Other than that, we can see roof rails, ORVM-mounted turn indicators and mounted door handles.

Hyundai Exter design – Expected Specifications
The Exter is expected to come with several engine and transmission options. It is rumoured to come with a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine and a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol. The naturally aspirated engine could even come with a CNG option. What about a diesel engine option? The diesel engine is not expected due to the emission norms. In terms of transmission, we could see a plethora of options with manual, iMT, AMT and a proper automatic expected.
Expected features
Being a Hyundai, the Exter is expected to come loaded with features. For starters, we could see a big infotainment system, electric sunroof, digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, wireless charging and much more.
Hyundai Exter design – Launch timeline
Hyundai has started the teaser campaign of the Exter in full flow. This could hint that the brand is planning to launch the Exter in the upcoming months, probably in May or June this year. What about the pricing? The Exter could start from Rs 6 to 7 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival the Tata Punch, Citroen C3 and Maruti Ignis.
