It appears Hyundai is in no mood to rest after it’s futuristic and ferocious. Its new-gen Verna has spruced up the sedan segment and now the brand has forayed its entrance in the micro SUV line. In the segment wherein the Punch rules like no other car, Hyundai is likely to bring an all-new car. What could this new Hyundai Punch rival be like? Let’s know more.
Hyundai Punch Rival – Design
This new model which is codenamed the ‘Ai3’ would be based on the same platform as the Grand i10 Nios. To differentiate from the hatchback, Hyundai is giving this one a more a beefed-up look and boxy design to justify its SUV nature. There were talks about it obtaining design iterations from the globally sold Casper but it couldn’t be seen in the spy shots. The spotted car appears unique with a boxy design, upright bonnet and roof rails. Other design elements include the current design language of the brand. So, we can see stuff like connected taillamps, parametric jewel grille, H shaped LED DRLs.
This new model is said to rival the Tata Punch which is a loaded car on its own. Therefore, Hyundai being Hyundai would also load the Ai3 with plenty of features. It is also suggested that this model would be a step above the Grand i10 Nios while sitting below the Venue. In order to give grounds for the same we could see a large infotainment system, wireless charging, sunroof, digital instrument cluster and more.
Hyundai Punch Rival – Specifications
As far as power is concerned, Hyundai is likely to induce the 1.2-litre petrol engine in this car. This mill produces 82bhp and 114Nm of torque and is most likely to be made available with 5-speed MT and AMT. Another thing could be the 1.0-litre turbo petrol that might be added in the stable to give it an upper hand over the Punch.
