All new Toyota Fortuner - 3 things we know
The Toyota Fortuner is a car that needs no separate introduction in the Indian market. You see it everywhere from political convoys to reels. We have already written an article on how it has become this popular (You can check it below). Now Toyota is looking to increase its popularity even further by bringing its new generation model. We have some knowledge about the new model. In today’s article, let’s talk about the new Fortuner.
New platform and hybrid tech
According to rumours, the new-generation Fortuner will switch to a TNGA-F platform in its new generation. This will be a major upgrade considering this platform is used by Toyota and Lexus on the Land Cruiser and LX. With this new platform, Toyota is also looking to accommodate a new mild-hybrid setup on the Fortuner. This mild hybrid setup will consist of an alternator to help the car during acceleration from a standstill and will also power the car at lower RPMs. The changes will help Toyota in getting in line with emission norms in India and also globally.
New design
Toyota recently released the first teaser of the Tacoma pickup. The Tacoma pickup is kind of the pickup version of the Fortuner sold globally. So the Fortuner is expected to take design cues from the Tacoma. The front design of the Tacoma has taken inspiration from newer Toyota SUVs. Overall we have smaller headlamps that don’t integrate into the grille like the current model. The logo is placed on another strip placed over the grille. At the rear, we could see C-shaped tail lamps and a new bumper design.
New Fortuner – More features
Toyota seems to have understood the importance of features. It has loaded the Innova HyCross with several segment-first features, and we expect the same on the new Fortuner. The Fortuner could get features like a panoramic sunroof, a bigger infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, an electronic parking brake and much more. We also expect Toyota to give it ADAS like the Innova HyCross.
