Rs 15 lakh SUVs – Hyundai Ai3
The micro SUV segment which has been revived due to the Tata Punch is likely to see new rivals in the upcoming months. One of them would be the Ai3 micro-SUV which is expected to launch in the festive season of this year. After its launch, it would be the most affordable SUV from the brand offering plenty of features and SUV styling. The camouflaged version of the car is spotted testing on the South Asian markets which could only mean it is near its launch. Moreover, the car would be underpinned by the K1 platform which is also shared by other compact cars of the brand.
Maruti has taken its SUV portfolio seriously. As its the most lucrative segment, Maruti has also placed the Fronx above the Baleno and below the Grand Vitara. The overall dimensions of the car are also city friendly which makes it easier to manoeuvre and carry out daily chores. Talking about its engine options, it is available with a 1.2-litre petrol engine (89bhp and 113Nm) and a 1.0-litre BoosterJet engine that makes 99bhp and 148Nm of torque.
Rs 15 lakh SUVs – Maruti Jimny
One of the most anticipated unveilings of the year is none other than Jimny. Maruti has bought the 5-door iteration of the car to the Indian market. This car which has increased practicality, better second-row space, 4×4 capabilities with low range transfer case, etc has got all the stuff which is needed by a lifestyle off-roader. The Jimny is available in two variants- Zeta and Alpha which have many safety features as standard. If we talk about the tech list, it gets a 9-inch infotainment system, premium sound system, reverse parking camera and more.
Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus
Mahindra is planning to launch the Bolero Neo Plus which is essentially the extended version of the regular Bolero Neo. The Plus gets an additional 400mm of length and also sits 40mm wider than the Neo. Moreover, the Neo Plus is going to be a 9-seater car with two front-facing seats at the third row. Other than this, the Bolero Neo Plus is expected to be powered by a 2.2-litre mHaWk diesel engine making 118bhp and 280Nm of torque. Transmission options would be limited to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Creta is one of the most important monikers of the SUV segment in India. There are talks about the new facelift update of the Creta with a new petrol engine option. The updated car will carry a new exterior design with plenty of new features. So, the new car is likely to get a fully digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera, front parking sensors and more. After this update, there is a high chance that the car would increase its overall brand value due to its more loaded tech and better engine.
